Karate

Well Nik had his first karate lesson today. He loved it! He did really good we were so proud. I think he will do this for awhile. He learned how to punch the right way and learned some jumps. Rachel has had a cold the last couple of days she seems better today. It was so nice today so we cleaned the leaves out of the gutters and did some other things outside. Tomorrow we are going into the attic to see if there are any bats up there and to make sure it is sealed up so they can't get in. Jason sealed up the chimney there were big gaps on the sides of it and I think that was how they were getting in. Well have a nice weekend.

So proud

Well I had Rachel's conferences with Mrs. Kramer yesterday. She had nothing but great things to say. She got another 95% on her Social Studies test. In October they took a reading achievement test Rachel scored above average. Mrs. Kramer said we should be very proud of her work and what she has accomplished. We enrolled Nik in Karate classes he went up today to get his uniform and learn a few moves. He starts his first class on Friday, he seems really excited and I think this will help him out a lot with focusing and sitting still. I don't have any pictures this time. Have a nice Thanksgiving everyone.

Sleep overs

Well Rachel and Nik had a sleep over in Nik's room yesterday. They were so excited to do it. Here is a cute pictutre of them sleeping they are so peaceful when they sleep. Tonight Rachel is sleeping over Auntie Kim's in PA.
I am sure she will have lots of fun. Rachel has her first big project in school. Mrs. Kramer picked out a Christmas book for each child and they have to write an essay and do a diorama for it. They have 3 weeks to do it. I never remember 3rd grade being so hard I guess I blocked it out. Nik is doing good in school though lately he has been acting out at home. I think he is having a hard time when Rachel leaves for her dads. Well things will be busy this coming week with Thanksgiving and my pet sitting. This is one of my busy times of the year. Have a nice weekend.

So proud

Well I had a meeting yesterday with Nik's teacher from Painesville City schools and it went really well. She said he is doing wonderfully and that at the beginning of Jan. a year from when we started she can stop coming. She feels that Nik is doing great and should have no problems. I have noticed such a big change in him since last year. He just needed the extra year to mature. She said if I would of sent him to kindergarten this year he would of been at the bottom of his class. He is now prepared enough that next year when he goes he should be at the top of his class. I am so proud of him. Here is the kids school pictures I just got them back. They turned out great, they both look so big. Don't worry I will either send you one or put one in a Christmas card. Have a nice weekend.

Great grades

Rachel got her report card back last week and she did great! I am so proud of her. She got all A's and B's. This was the first time she got a letter grade for everything. Jason's mom made it back safely to Alaska. Nik doesn't have school today because of voting his preschool is one of the voting places, so they decided not to have school for safety reasons. On Thursday I meet with Nik's teacher from Painesville City Schools to see how he is doing. Today is going to be rainy though warmer this week. I put a picture up of her report card its hard to see though. Have a great week.

Trick or treating was a lot of fun. The kids got so much candy this year. Nik did really good he did not trip once and drop all his candy like past years. The both had parties in school. Nobody reconized Nik with his black hair. Last night was the last night we saw Jason's mom we went to Applebees for dinner. It was nice. The kids will miss them. We had a really good time this year. The kids now have their own email addresses. They love getting emails and sending them back they think it is so neat. Well I can't believe its November already. Have a good week.

Bats Yuk!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well last night we discovered a bat in our house. We have been hearing the chirping noise off and on for the last couple of years and we thought it was a cricket that was stuck near the furnance area. Well last night it was making the chirping noise so I decided to hit the one pipe with a broom and Jason turned on the furnance hoping that whatever was there would go away. Well all of a sudden a bat came flying out. Jason freaks out and so do I and we run outside. Well Jason did not want to get it out so his Uncle came over and captured it and put it in a box to take to his property because he has an old barn were he can live. Well the gross part is I think there is more bats living in the chimney because we heard the noise again which we now know is bats. We did not tell the kids we did not want to scare them. Here is a picture of him. I don't know what we are going to do about the others Jason's is trying to figure that out. I just want them out of here it freaks me out.

Carving pumpkins

Last night we carved our pumpkins when Rachel came back to from her dad's house. The kids drew their own faces and I carved them out. This year they actually scooped the seeds out of the pumpkins themselves. Nik said he loved doing it. There is a nice picture of Rachel with the pumpkin slime. Rachel 2 weeks ago took a big history test she got 95% on it!!! I am so proud of her, we studied out butts off for the test and it paid off. Mrs Kramer her teacher said she should be proud of herself and it was a pleasure to read her work. I am so proud!!!
For Halloween Rachel is going to be a pirate and Nik is a vampire. Jason in dressing up too and will be a vampire also. I will have more pictures of that later. Have a Happy Halloween and don't eat too much candy.

Well this weekend we went to the circus on Saturday. It was so much fun. The kids loved it and so did the adults. We could not take pictures . Later in the day we went hiking and we got some pretty pictures of the leaves from the outlook at Chapin Forest in Kirtland. Then on Sunday we went to Chuck E Cheese. The kids had a lot of fun of course. Well today it is snowing in Chardon and we could get 1-3 inches. Yuk! Nik is doing much better and will go to school today. Jason and I suffered a mild version of what Nik had over the weekend but it was short lived. Have a great week!

Cabin

Well we are back from the cabin. We had a great time. Nik said it is his best time ever. It was a huge cabin it had four rooms and 2 bathrooms it was bigger than our house. We went down to the beach and the waves were huge I got a nice picture of that. There was hardly any beach left. We made hobo pies the eggs ones did not turn out good. But the cheese and jelly ones turned out really good. We played Candy Land and Sorry. The sleeping was not too great all the adults did not sleep much. It was too hot in Jason and my room and the furnance was so loud it woke you up everytime it kicked on. Plus the beds had plastic on them which was uncomfortable. Jason and I ended up on the couches which still did not help much. The kids slept great they said at least somebody slept good. Then we went out to breakfast which was very good. Tonight we are going to Danielle's.

It is so cold out there I cam glad I bought Nik a new winter jacket the other day because he did not have one. Well stay warm everyone. I will be taking a lot of pictures of all of our fun this weekend.

Izzy's in love

Izzy got a new toy from Jason's mom and dad its a little fish that squeaks. He is in love with it he carries it all around and I found him sleeping with it yesterday so I took a picture of it. Tomorrow we are going to the cabin it sounds like fun, its right by the beach. We will not be doing any swimming though its going to be soooo cold. Its going to get in the 30's tonight and they say a possibility of snow. Yuk!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then Saturday night we are going over Danielle's house for a cookout.

Pumpkin and Corn Festival

Today we saw mom and dad . We went to Bob Evans and ate breakfast though it was more close to lunch. The kids were so excited to see them. Then we went to the Pumpkin and corn Festival at the Lake Metro Parks in Kirtland. The kids went on pony rides, painted pumpkins, saw how they made apple cider. We all went into a corn maze which was a lot of fun. You had to answer these questions at certain turns, and depending on your answer you either went the right way or the wrong way. Though I had the answer sheet which made it easier. After words we went to get ice cream at the place at the intersection of 306 and 6. It was very yummy everyone had a great time. Rachel even passed out on the way home.

I painted the bathroom yesterday. This is the best picture I could get our bathroom is so small so it was hard. I painted it a pale blue. And painted the door and trim around the door white. Everything looked so nice and bright so I ended up painting Rachel & Nikolaus's door too. Rachel is back and she is doing great. She did great in math last week she got a 99% on one of her timed math tests. Have a great week.

Well I finally got Kim's and Jay's wedding pictures from my mom. So here they are. Some are a little fuzzy not much I can do about that. The picture at the bottom is of my mom, brother, and my Grandpa & Grandma Comer. Looks like they had a great time. My grandpa actually wore shorts my mom told me and thats a first I don't think I have ever seen him in shorts. Thats how hot it was and humid too. Well I am going to paint the bathroom today. It is going to be a pale blue. I forgot some things so we need to run up to Home Depot. I will post some pictures of it when I am done. Something is wrong with our grill so Jason is going to attempt to fix it. Trying to get the house all in order for mom and dad they will be here late Friday night. Well weather should be nice today so enjoy it.

Crazy hair

Here is a cute picture of Nik with crazy hair. He looks so cute. Everyone is doing great. Nik is doing great in school. I am so proud of him I am glad I held him back. Rachel will be here for a little extra time on Friday her dad needed someone to watch her he is taking pictures for a wedding. We will have her overnight. Yeah!! Grandma and Grandpa Spotz are coming soon. Everyone is excited and can't wait to see them. They come Oct. 6th I think. Nik told me he wants to be a vampire for Halloween. I can't believe its close to that time of year already. I have had my car for 5 days and it is my most favorite car I have ever owned. They say you either love the PT cruiser or hate it. Well I love it. Its perfect for our family the trunk is spacious and has a shelf in the back that can be taken out. We could go camping and fit all of our stuff in which we can not do in the Saturn. Also the back seats fold down and come out so does the front passenger. So we can actually transport some decent size things if needed to. I took my car to get washed today and it looks great. Well have a great week and I will get those pictures hopefully soon from my mom of Kim's wedding. I did see the professional pictures and they turned out so nice.
